Zheng Zhengqiu (1889-July 16, 1935), formerly known as Zheng Fangze. One of the earliest film writers and directors in China, the father of Chinese film. In 1913, he wrote and co-directed China's first short feature film "Die for Marriage". In 1922, with Zhang Shichuan and others, he founded the Star Film Company.
